Mission Trip Details
When: March 17 - 24, 2018
We are a group of 17 mothers that want to make a difference. We want to help the moms in Guatemala and show them their worth in Jesus. We want to give them homes, help feed and clothe their children, and love them unconditionally!
So how can a one-week mission trip have a long-term impact? First, Manos de Jesus has been in the same place for over 13 years and is now the single biggest employer in Chichi, with over 75 native Guatemalan employees. None of he Americans are payed a salary -- they live on support raised from people who believe in what they do. God has expanded their ministry every year, and it now includes:
-building over 1100 homes for widow families
-building vented stoves in existing homes
-older home restoration (with bathrooms)
-feeding 200 children per night after providing age-appropriate Bible instruction
-on-campus shoe factory that gives away over 100 pairs of children's shoes per week
-on-campus dental office, providing services whenever dentists are availabl
-on-campus Casa de Sarita for training special needs kids who age out of orphanages
-on-campus bodega for storing bulk food for weekly distribution
-on-campus church building for local Bible-based worship
-Mi Familia family sponsorship program that leads families to a place of self-sufficiency
Manos de Jesus is not merely efficient in it's valuable programs (over 95% of donations directly reach families in need)--the group connects deeply with community leaders and families to bring a true picture of who Jesus really is. Every house dedication comes with the Gospel, as we always explain that the widows do not owe anyone for their new home because Jesus paid the price. We are there at His direction.
First and foremost, we ask you to PRAY. Pray for us as we gather donations and prepare to travel, for Manos de Jesus, and for the Guatemalans that we will be serving. Only God can redeem some of the situations we will encounter. Second, please prayerfully consider supporting us--any amount will be a big help, and we welcome you on this journey with us.
